  •  In 1993 to mark the 25th anniversary it was decided to choose a Booker of Bookers Prize. The Prize was won by Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie (1981 winner)
  • In 2008, a similar prize known as The Best of the Booker was awarded. The winner was again Midnight’s Children.

Open only to writers from the Commonwealth, Ireland and Zimbabwe[But from 2014, it will consider authors from anywhere in the world, as long as their work is in English and published in the UK]

The Man Booker International prize also allows for a separate award for translation

The award is a recognition of the writer's body of work, rather than any one title
The award is specific for a single book / title.
